Commitment of one academic year.
Minimum 2 visits to your assigned school per month.
Completion of volunteer training.
Attend a minimum of one of the twice-yearly professional development gatherings for Spiritual Care Volunteers.
Submit a School Visitor Log each month.

Volunteer Commitment

All SCSS Volunteers are provided with facilitated and self-directed training prior to visiting schools or hosting online sessions.

Topics include:

Basic Expectations of SC Volunteers (Answering emails, visitor log, reporting incidences, responding to crisis calls, etc).
Duty of Care
Duty to Report
Pastoral Care Models in Schools
Creating Safe and Brave Spaces for Youth
Listening without Judgement
Ethics and Confidentiality
Seeking Help for a Student and Resources Available
